I’ve been in Lisbon for a few days now, and I finally decided to go to Almada, which is on the southern part of the Tejo river estuary. Almada is recognizable from Lisbon because of the cross, the Monte Cristo, and is connected with the capital by ship and by the 25 de Abril bridge.

Because I took the ferry, I had the feeling that I was in an island. After the quick sail from Cais do Sodré to Cacilhas, I took up the apparently abandonned docks where I saw a few fishermen check their fishing nets and gut their batch of fresh fish.

As I kept walking toward the Museu Naval, I came accross a little nice restaurant called Atirate ao rio (jump in the river). It’s really nice, if you ever go to Lisbon, you have to go there. The walk along Rua do Ginjal, the same that leads to the elevator taking you to the mirador with a view on the coast of Lisbon, looks kind of abandonned, but once you arrive to the restaurant, the service and the food will make your eyes, your smell and your papillae happy happy happy!

After tasting their cheese cake with a cafezinho, my day was brighter, my walk, briskier and my smile didn’t lie!
